About Black Wolves Academia

WHO ARE WE?
We are a sports academy that was founded 8 years ago in response to a collective need: there was no basketball team in our community. Since then, we have offered training in this discipline completely free of charge, benefiting dozens of young people.
Our athletes have grown not only physically but also mentally, both individually and as a team. Some are no longer with us for various reasons (work, moving away), but our academy remains strong and continues to grow.

We started with basketball because it was the most urgent need at the time and also because it was easier to obtain the necessary sports equipment. Later, we saw the need to include girls' volleyball—an area greatly neglected in our community. After several years of trying to integrate it, we finally succeeded this year! Today, we are growing exponentially with our girls in this sport.

Recently, we also incorporated soccer, another sport that once existed in the community but was abandoned due to a lack of institutional support. The former coach had to step down, and we took over the project.

Today, we are the number one sports academy in the Cabarete district and possibly in all of Sosúa. But that could change if we don’t find people who believe in our project and are willing to help sustain this beautiful work.

We are an academy with more than 8 years of experience, providing a safe and nurturing space for children and teenagers in our community.
Through basketball, we not only promote athletic development but also values such as discipline, teamwork, and respect.
Our commitment is to create opportunities for every young person to grow strong, healthy, and with a vision for the future.

In response to the constant request from our young girls, we incorporated women’s volleyball.
Today, after 6 months of effort and dedication, we have an extraordinary group of girls who have chosen to make a difference in the community.
They train with passion and discipline, with the goal of becoming the first volleyball team formed here and proudly representing our district in competitions.

We also did everything possible to adapt soccer into our academy. Many young people look for different sports options, and this sport is a necessity in every community.
We want to start soccer with children from 8 years old and up, so that the sports culture continues to grow and becomes a common practice in our district.

OUR DREAMS AND GOALS We want to become the largest sports community in the entire region. But this is not only about sports: it’s about growing as a community and as individuals, about giving future generations a better place to develop and more opportunities to thrive. We all know that sports are the number one driving force in developed countries; they can transform a person’s life and take them from nothing to greatness. And what better way to give our children the chance to try than by opening the door to as many disciplines as possible. Today, we train in three sports, but we won’t stop here. We will continue to expand, and next year we will add girls’ softball, a visible need that our young women have been asking for over time. Our commitment is to open more doors, nurture more dreams, and ensure that every child finds in sports a path toward a better future.
